Welcome to Sam and Adam Childcare
Where little steps find big hearts, music and magical days
At Sam and Adam’s Childcare, we understand that choosing the perfect early years environment for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. Based in Paignton, our Ofsted-registered childminding service offers a warm, safe, and nurturing "home from home" environment where your child can grow, learn, and flourish.
Our philosophy is built upon providing high-quality, flexible care tailored to the unique developmental stage, age, and individual needs of every child in our care. Through a wide variety of structured entertainment, learning activities, and real-world experiences, we support children as they discover the world around them at their own comfortable pace.

The 'Play Room'
Our Playful and Active Days
We believe that learning should be an active, engaging adventure. Our days are filled with development activities designed around your child's age, interests, and milestones. We love making regular use of our outdoor space play equipment, encouraging physical confidence and natural curiosity. A firm favourite in our outdoor area is our messy-play "mud kitchen," and the water play area where children can explore textures, sensory play, and imaginative recipes in a fun, natural environment.
We also enjoy taking the children on wonderful local outings, whether exploring Paignton on foot, travelling safely in public transport, or taking trips in our fully comprehensively insured vehicle equipped with age and height-appropriate safety restraints.
These trips connect our children directly with their local community and the natural world.

The "Quiet Room"
What's Important to Us
At our core, we believe that every child deserves a nurturing and inspiring space to grow, which is why we are fully committed to welcoming and providing high-quality care for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We understand that finding the right environment can feel daunting, so our approach is proudly guided by the expertise of Sam Garner, a former Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
Sam’s extensive practical experience in education ensures our space is genuinely inclusive, adaptive, and supportive of the unique emotional and cognitive needs of every child. By partnering closely with parents and carers, we tailor our routines and activities to ensure that every individual can participate, explore, and thrive at their own pace in a truly supportive environment.
Our Standards, Health and Nutrition
The safety and wellbeing of your child are our highest legal and moral responsibilities. Our setting complies strictly with Ofsted regulations, National Care Standards, and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory guidelines. We maintain full public liability insurance, a smoke-free and vape-free environment, and comprehensive data protection policies to keep your family's personal information safe and secure.
To support growing bodies and healthy habits, we provide nutritious, balanced, and freshly prepared meals and snacks for £5.00 per day. We believe in the importance of all children eating together and reducing the burden on working parents. We happily accommodate specific dietary needs, allergies, and social or ethnic requirements, ensuring every mealtime is inclusive and health conscious.
Our Opening Hours & Holidays
To help you plan your family's weekly routines, our set opening hours and holiday calendar are as follows:
Our Weekly Hours: We are open from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday.
Christmas Closure: We close completely for two weeks over the Christmas period so we can recharge and spend festive time with our families.
Annual Holidays: We take 4 weeks holiday, one in a 2-week block, at other points throughout the year. We will always give you plenty of advance notice so you have ample time to arrange alternative cover.
Let's Connect
We believe that strong partnerships with parents are key to a child's success. We maintain open, clear records of your child's milestones, and we are always available to discuss their unique development, daily routines, and accomplishments.
Spaces within our setting are limited to ensure we maintain our focused, high-quality care. If you would like to arrange a visit to meet us, see our setting, and say hello to Betsy, please get in touch using our details below, or send us a message on our Contact Us page

A Special Welcome from Betsy!
A wonderful part of our household team is Betsy, our adorable one-year-old cockapoo dog. Weighing just 7kg, Betsy is a small, non-shedding breed who is thoroughly house trained and exceptionally friendly with young children. She is an absolute joy to have around and provides a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about gentleness, empathy, and caring for animals.
To ensure absolute safety and peace of mind, Betsy is fully supervised by us at all times during operational hours, and has her own "Quiet Zone" for when her working day is done!
